Sadie Edginton

'Working predominately with performance and materials, I use performance practice for spatial and relational research into a site. Taking the shape of a performance, online work or an event; I explore the roles of audience, participant and performer embodying the moment'

Sadie creates events, workshops, online or live performative works, building or dismantling relationships between groups, situations and physical materials. Through a performance process, she often use a method of collaboration leading to an intended aim, being more interested in investing in the process.

With an interest in the potential of art for peer-learning as well as different modes of alternative art education using collaboration for artist practice development, Sadie created NAVIGATE (with Gerald Curtis) commissioning two collaborative weekend workshops, one led by Louise Ashcroft and RCA students, was called 'The Yard House Collective', followed by a publication created out of participants' responses, a launch event, and a performance party held at The Glass Factory. NAVIGATE went on to form a collective performing at V&A Lates, and Berlin's MPA, where it dismantled in May 2014.
