The Styx

"In the entrances of malls and on street corners, groups of real-estate agents furtively huddle looking like ticket touts. Or drug dealers.

Psst, buying or renting?

It isn’t just physical space that is in demand; pshycic space is under pressure too. Shrines and offerings, prayer flags and incense burners line the pavement.

The border between the living and the dead is porous. Overcrowding in either realm exacerbates overcrowding on the other side of the Styx; the proximity of cemeteries or hospitals depresses the value of real-estate. But nothing has such a dramatic effect on the value of a property as an unnatural death having occurred there."
- From George Major's An Atlas.

Transatlantic fragments

Inspired by French poet Blaise Cendrars' poem Lettre-océan, 'Transatlantic fragments' is a one-month transatlantic mail project, turned into a floating installation when it arrives, envelope by envelope, at its destination in London.

The project documents Marion's move from London to Houston, Texas, in April 2015. Written during that month, on pieces of paper found in her daily life, this kind of diary will arrive in London daily, starting the beginning of May, for the duration of AltMFA's residency at Guest Pr
ojects.  Once on-site, the letters will be opened daily by members of the collective and hung from the ceiling. The installation's form will change and morph depending on the inspiration of the person opening the letter, and the events happening on that day.

Hook, Line and Sinker

Coming from an animistic school of thought, I work with found objects and collected materials. 'Hook, Line and Sinker' is a series of fly tie portraits inspired by significant people in my life. The process of making establishes are connection to each subject and thereby takes on a life of its own.
